Naternal™ HP-8 COS SGI is derived from guar grown in villages of Rajasthan that are part of the Sustainable Guar Initiative program. It is an ideal thickening polymer for personal care formulas bearing naturality, biodegradability and ethical sourcing claims. Naternal™ HP-8 COS SGI can be used in various formulas (shampoos, body washes, hair conditioners, hair treatments…) to help build the viscosity while contributing to the care benefits delivered to hair and/or skin. It is also very well suited for eco-minded DIY waterless cleansers.
Naternal™ HP-8 COS SGI is classified as Inherently Ultimately Biodegradable - Score B - following the Beauty Biodeg Score, a scale created by Syensqo experts based on the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) guidelines, precisely the OECD 301 F and OECD 302 B.

Thanks to the hydroxypropylation of its guar backbone, Naternal™ HP-8 COS SGI exhibits unique super-fast hydration properties, enabling an easy and quick reconstitution of the cleanser at home, even with cold water.
It outperforms the other naturally-derived polymeric thickener technologies that can be found in this type of format (xanthan gum, diutan gum, cellulose-based thickeners) and that take longer to hydrate and/or require hot water. Naternal™ HP-8 COS SGI also provides a honey-like flow to the cleanser, contrary to e.g. the xanthan or diutan gums that provide a lumpy flow.
