Beyond Fluorosurfactants: Breakthrough polymerization technologies
We are leading the industry in the transition beyond fluorosurfactants (a type of Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances - PFAS - used as process aids), setting a new standard for high-performance, sustainable materials. With our breakthrough patented polymerization technology, we introduced a first portfolio of Tecnoflon® peroxide curable fluoroelastomers (FKM) produced without the use of fluorosurfactants in 2022 and now we are launching a market-first non-fluorosurfactant Tecnoflon® perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) in response to the industries’ evolving needs for performance and greater sustainability.
Our proprietary NFS (non-fluorosurfactant) technology marks a revolutionary advancement in fluoropolymer production, ensuring that next-generation materials meet the highest safety, performance, and environmental standards.
Expanding on this breakthrough, Syensqo has also launched Aquivion® N+ 125D, a fluoro-ionomer produced with NFS technology, now commercially available worldwide. This next-generation material is designed for hydrogen-related applications, reinforcing our commitment to innovation that accelerates the clean energy transition.
