UL Plastics Recognition Cards
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is a safety consulting and certification company that has been testing and approving products for consumer safety since 1894. The company has participated in the safety analysis of many of the last century's new technologies, most notably the public adoption of electricity and the drafting of safety standards for electrical devices and components. There are many product categories that UL evaluates and certifies, including insulating materials such as plastics.
Because UL is a third-party, not-for-profit organization with no financial interest in the products they evaluate, manufacturers can be confident that UL ratings are a true indication of their operational safety.
