Energain® Sol: New Generation Solvents and Formulations to Increase Battery Performance
Energain® Sol is a range of new generation solvents and formulation instructions for high voltages up to 5volts to increase energy density and cycle life. They have been developed for nickel-rich cathodes and are under development for advanced cathodes such as silicon, Li-metal, and anode free. Syensqo has a strong IP position and materials are available for pilot testing.
Energain® Sol: Battery Cell Performance 4.45V LCO/Gr Pouch Cell
As the graphs below illustrate, Energain® Sol improves cycling at both room and high temperatures at a high voltage of level 4.45V in LCO/Gr cells against a high-performing reference. Energain® Sol improves high-temperature storage properties for LCO/Gr cells. However, Energain® Sol has also been shown to improve battery cell performance in nickel-rich cathodes such as NCM622/Gr and NCM811/Gr.
