Towards less toxic and more sustainable passivations

The metal treatment industry has been shifting to less toxic chemicals, as a consequence, the use of hexavalent Chrome (Cr VI) has been banned in many applications.

This ban particularly affects electro-galvanized fasteners as they need to be extremely resistant to bare corrosion. 
 

Improving bare corrosion resistance of electro-galvanized fasteners 

AddibondTMis a polymeric booster that improves the bare corrosion resistance of trivalent-chrome-based passivations. It can be easily added into various types of passivations allowing enhanced performance without major changes in the treatment process.

Boosting bare corrosion of passivated and sealed EG fasteners

Sealing is often used on top of passivation to extend bare corrosion resistance. Our polymeric boosters can be used in the passivation, or in the rinse following passivation and before sealing. It will bring additional corrosion resistance on top of the sealing layer achieved.
