Addressing the Needs of Complex Structural Parts

Syensqo understands the need for design freedom, lightweighting, and other trends within the automotive industry. Our materials are strategically developed to address the specialized needs of structural and semi-structural parts, internal parts, mechanical components, and paints and coatings for today’s leading vehicles.

Structural and Semi Structural Parts

Structural Parts

Manufacturers require thermoset and thermoplastic composites for optimal light and consistent structural reinforcement for enhanced crash safety. Syensqo’s portfolio of composite materials includes trusted brands such as SolvaLite™, Evolite™, MTM®, VTM®, LTM® and HTM® that provide maximum structural stability. Additionally, products such as Amodel® PPA, Ryton® PPS, Ixef® PARA, Xencor LFT™, and Omnix® HPPA provide optimal mechanical strength in diverse structural applications.

Exterior

Exterior structural applications are exposed to a wide range of environmental conditions that deteriorate materials over time. The CYASORB® CYXTRA® line of light stabilizers provides great UV durability in exterior components, while SolvaLite™ and MTM® enable enhanced mechanical properties in body panels.

Internal Parts and Mechanical Components

Friction Materials

To avoid compromising safety in friction materials, Syensqo offers a large range of phenol and derivative products to increase the binding capabilities and reliability of friction materials.

Parts and Fasteners

Exposed to harsh performance conditions, fasteners require surface treatments that increase their resistance properties. Addibond™ additives are ideal for chromium-free surface treatment that targets anti-corrosion capabilities.

Interior

Interior applications require excellent resistance to UV light to maximize their aesthetic features and comfort. CYASORB® CYXTRA® is a family of antioxidants, light stabilizers and absorbers that provides maximum UV protection and durability in interior applications.

Fuel Tanks

As lightweighting technologies become a notable industry trend, so do light-weighting fuel tanks. However, the permeability of plastic fuel tanks is a concern. F2 and N2 elemental fluorine and nitrogen aid in the fluorination process to help plastic fuel tanks exhibit better strength.

Paints and Coatings

Additives

Syensqo’s portfolio of specialty materials includes an extensive list of innovative solutions for automotive paints and coatings. Our portfolio addresses some of the most pressing issues in automotive coatings, from better water and corrosion resistance to metal treatment and freeze-thaw stability in coating formulations.  Our additives for automotive paints include Sipomer®,  Rhodoline® Ft 100 , Addibond™, ALBRITECT® and Lubrhophos®.
