Enhanced Brands for Specialized UAM Applications

Syensqo’s portfolio of industry-proven solutions for urban air mobility addresses the needs of various specialized applications. Our extensive portfolio includes renowned brands such as Amodel® PPA, Ryton® PPS, and Solef® PVDF.

  • Amodel® PPA - Part of a family of high-temperature polyamides, Amodel® PPA retains outstanding strength, stiffness and dielectric performance in temperatures up to 280°C for use in UAM battery electrical insulation. These impressive resins maintain their mechanical integrity in demanding conditions such as extreme temperatures, chemical exposure and high humidity.
  • Ryton® PPS - This semi-crystalline, high-heat polymer is known for offering exceptional dimensional stability and is an optimal solution for thermal management in batteries for urban air mobility applications. Ryton® PPS is ideal for precision-molded components that require high-heat resistance and chemical resistance.
  • Solef® PVDF - Solef® PVDF thermoplastics are used in several aerospace applications and offer reliable chemical resistance properties and thermal stability. Known for being inherently flame retardant, this thermoplastic fluoropolymer provides UV, aging and weathering resistance to protective coatings, battery binders and separators used in UAM applications.
  • Tecnoflon® FKM and FFKM - These highly resilient synthetic rubbers retain critical properties in chemically aggressive environments at extreme temperatures. Unlike traditional elastomers based on carbon-hydrogen or silicon-oxygen bonds, Tecnoflon® products derive their uniquely superior properties from the strength of carbon-fluorine bonds. Tecnoflon® FKM and FFKM are also highly resistant to UV light and ozone.
  • KetaSpire® PEEK - offers the best combination of fatigue resistance and chemical resistance. PEEK chemical resistance is similar to that of PPS (polyphenylene sulfide). However, PEEK can operate at higher temperatures and retains its excellent mechanical properties at continuous-use temperatures up to 240 °C (464 °F), allowing it to replace metal in severe end-use environments. Glass fiber-reinforced and carbon-fiber-reinforced grades, as well as specialty grades, provide a wide range of performance options.
  • Torlon® PAI - This amorphous polymer has exceptional resistance to wear, creep and chemicals and performs well under severe service conditions up to 260°C (500°F). Torlon® PAI also has superior electrical and structural characteristics at high temperatures, an extremely low coefficient of linear thermal expansion, and exceptional dimensional stability. Typical applications include non-lubricating bearings, seals, valves, compressors, and piston parts, bearing cages, bushings, and thrust washers.
  • Fomblin® PFPE - Fomblin® PFPE fluorinated lubricants represent the best choice when aggressive chemical environments, high temperatures or wide working-temperature ranges are involved. They are engineered for those applications where heat, chemicals, solvents, corrosion, toxicity, flammability and service life present lubrication problems.
