FM® 490 BFM® 490B

Product functions: Medium Service Temperature (70°C to 150°C)
FM® 490B
FM® 490B is a modified epoxy core splice foam that may be cured at temperatures ranging from 225°F to 350°F (107°C to 177°C) by either free foaming or restrained foaming processes. This product is designed to minimize variation in cell structure induced by typical process variables such as heat-up rates and vacuum conditions. The core splice foam contains no metallic fillers, making it appropriate for applications requiring radar transparency. FM® 490B offers advantages over FM® 490A via improved expansion performance.
Typical applications of FM® 490B include honeycomb splicing, boding of inserts or edge members to core, and localized reinforcement of honeycomb core where increase shear strength is required.
