Structural Composites for Innovative Motorsport Vehicles

Syensqo offers the industry’s broadest portfolio of high-performance composites for today’s most advanced motorsport applications and components. These materials impart a unique combination of key properties, such as lightweighting, high-temperature tolerance, excellent strength and rigidity, design flexibility, and more. With decades of experience as a leading developer of motorsport material solutions, Syensqo’s composites and other products also meet stringent industry regulations and performance standards to facilitate a championship-quality vehicle. Our expansive selection of solutions includes composites, adhesives, films, prepregs, and polymers.

  • CYCOM® - CYCOM® provides solutions to the most technically challenging primary structural automotive composite applications. Developed to address an array of high-performance needs, CYCOM provides superior structural performance, supports multiple part manufacturing options and offers various product forms, from prepregs to resin systems.
  • MTM® - MTM® (Medium Temperature Molding) series prepregs and associated adhesives (MTA®) offer toughened systems. MTM products are generally used for high performance motorsports. applications. Typical cure temperatures for MTM prepregs and adhesives are in the range of 80 to 135℃ (176 to 275℉).
  • LTM® - LTM® (Low Temperature Molding) series structural and tooling prepregs and associated adhesives (LTA®) provide advanced mechanical properties and the benefits of low temperatures cures. Typical cure temperatures for LTM prepregs and adhesives range from 20 to 80℃ (68 to 176℉). LTM offers low temperature initial curing, allows for the use of low cost/low temperature master models and produces high temperature-capable tooling after additional free-standing post cure.
  • HTM® - HTM® (High Temperature Molding) series component and tooling prepregs, along with the associate adhesive (HTA®), are suitable for high temperature applications, formulated for the manufacture of high temperature-capable components and tooling applications. The typical cure temperature for HTM prepregs and adhesives is 135℃ (275℉). HTM delivers improved handling characteristics and high thermal cycling capability following the appropriate cure.
  • FM® - Syensqo’s FM® is a portfolio of structural film/foam adhesives designed to meet precise temperature, toughness, environmental and cure requirements. With proven performance in demanding environments, FM adhesives are used in metal-to-metal, composite-to-metal and composite-to-composite bonding.
  • HTA® - HTA® is a high temperature structural epoxy film adhesive suitable for the bonding of aluminum and composite. HTA is used at high service temperatures greater than 150℃ (302℉).
  • MTA® - MTA® structural adhesive films are suitable for bonding both aluminum and composite substrates either to themselves or to honeycomb core materials. MTA epoxies range from low (MTA 240) to medium (MTA 241) temperature products to accompany MTM® series prepregs.
  • CYFORM® 22 - CYFORM® 22 is a high-performance and cost-effective epoxy tooling system for low-temperature curing. This product helps produce tooling laminates directly from a low-temperature master model.
  • KetaSpire® PEEK - KetaSpire® PEEK offers the best combination of fatigue resistance to provide a wide range of performance options. It provides manufacturers with a strong, lightweight alternative to metals that is corrosion-free with improved field efficiency, parts consolidation, noise and vibration dampening, excellent resistance to automotive fluids and high-temperature wear resistance.
  • Torlon® PAI - Torlon® PAI is the highest performing, melt-processable thermoplastic with exceptional resistance to wear, creep and chemicals. It performs well under severe service conditions and has superior electrical and structural characteristics at high temperatures, an extremely low coefficient of linear thermal expansion and exceptional dimensional stability. It’s a popular choice for electrical components with its electrical insulating properties.
  • Amodel® PPA - Amodel® PPA retains high strength and stiffness even at elevated temperatures and in chemically aggressive environments. It serves as an electrically-friendly, non-corrosive heat stabilizer.
