High-Temperature Polymers for Innovative Auto Electronics
Syensqo’s broad portfolio of high-temperature, high-performance polymers are specially designed to boost efficiency and performance of today’s most advanced auto electronics. This selection of resilient materials maintains its mechanical and chemical integrity despite extended exposure to elevated temperatures, which is optimal for ICE electronics. Syensqo’s solutions for electronic components in ICE systems enable for metal replacement opportunities and enhanced design freedom to improve both the environmental footprint and overall performance of automotive. Our portfolio of polymers for ICE electrical applications includes Amodel® PPA, Amodel® Bios , Amodel® Supreme, and Ryton® PPS.
- Amodel® PPA - A family of high-temperature polyamides, Amodel® PPA offers outstanding property retention, as it maintains its strength, stiffness and mechanical integrity after thousands of hours in high temperatures and high humidity and chemically aggressive environments. Ideal for a variety of automotive applications, Amodel® PPA is a major contributor to lightweighting solutions, especially in electrical and electronic components in ICE systems. This high-performance polymer is available in electrical-friendly grades, as it demonstrates high-voltage resistance and excellent dielectric properties at elevated temperatures.
- Amodel® Bios - An innovative, partially bio-sourced long-chain PPA made from non-food competing biomass, Amodel® Bios is produced using 100% renewable electricity. This sustainable grade of PPA is particularly well-suited to reduce environmental impact without compromising the application or material performance. Amodel® Bios PPA is extremely optimal for use in automotive electronics such as connectors, switches and more.
- Amodel® Supreme - As the industry’s highest-performing PPA, Amodel® Supreme boasts a best-in-class Tg of 165℃, which eases design considerations for engineers operating at wide temperature ranges. Amodel® Supreme exhibits exceptional volume resistivity and dielectric strength at elevated temperatures, which makes it optimal for the high-voltage environments surrounding ICE electrical applications.
- Ryton® PPS - A highly corrosion- and chemical-resistant polymer, Ryton® PPS offers a variety of beneficial properties for applications that are exposed to high temperatures, mechanical stress, and corrosive automotive fluids. Ryton® PPS offers outstanding processing flexibility for improved design opportunities, part consolidation for reduced fuel consumption, and high heat and electrical compatibility, which make it ideal for use in electrical actuators, bobbins, solenoids, and connectors in ICE systems.
