Rainfastness Adjuvants
Rainfastness adjuvants are especially important in areas with high levels of humidity and rainfall, formulations with sensitive actives, including microbial biopesticides, or when application intervals cannot be spaced or delayed. These essential additives prevent active ingredients from washing off which can result in reduced pesticide efficacy and unwanted pollution. These hydrophobic tank mix adjuvants work by creating a water-repellent barrier that binds to the leaf surface, allowing for better pesticide retention in these challenging environmental conditions.
Wetting and Spreading Adjuvants
Wetting and spreading adjuvants provide better pesticide deposition and retention of the liquid spray on target surfaces. These tank mix adjuvants work by reducing the surface tension between the spray droplet and the target surface and creating a uniform layer which maximizes area coverage. Wetting and spreading adjuvants are essential for common hairy or waxy leaf surfaces which are particularly difficult to cover. Super-wetter adjuvants also act as retention adjuvants as the droplets spread before rolling off the leaf surface.

Compatibility Adjuvants
Agrochemical spray tanks are becoming increasingly complex with multiple active ingredients often combined with high ionic strength fertilizers and salts, which makes compatibility with tank mix partners increasingly important. Compatibility adjuvants work by dispersing and stabilizing tank mix partners, resulting in improved homogeneous application.
Water Conditioners
In hard water conditions, high mineral content can deactivate the pesticide efficacy by complexing the active ingredient into precipitated salts. Water conditioners are added as tank mix adjuvants to selectively sequester minerals.
