The plant in Östringen, around 30 kilometers south of Heidelberg, is part of Syensqo's Composite Materials business unit.
The site employs more than 200 employees and produces high-performance composite materials for the aerospace industry, including prepregs and resins.
Prepregs are thin, flexible fibers pre-impregnated with epoxy resins, used to make lighter aircraft materials like fuselage, tail units and wings. The site also produces low-viscosity synthetic resins which are injected into prefabricated carbon fiber fabric using a special process.
These composite materials are ultra-lightweight and high-performance, designed for highly stressed components enabling the future of a more sustainable aerospace.
