Product Guide

Radel® PPSU

Radel® PPSU (polyphenylsulfone) is the highest performing specialty sulfone polymer in its class. This ultra-tough thermoplastic serves as a sustainable metal replacement for advanced heating systems to ensure greater task execution and extended cycle life. Syensqo’s Radel® PPSU combines excellent chemical resistance and outstanding hydrolytic stability to retain its original properties even after prolonged exposure to high-temperature and high-humidity environments. Formulated with the most advanced creep rupture resistance capability and impact strength, this high-grade material is ideal for demanding, high-pressure heating systems.

Radel® PPSU offers high heat and steam resistance, in addition to hydrolytic stability that ensure this durable polymer is suitable for hot water fittings in complex heating systems that operate under high pressure (up to 10 bar) and temperatures of up to 95°C. Additionally, resin durability and impressive longevity make Radel® PPSU a cost-competitive choice for manifolds, boiler tanks and components, heat meters, pumps, pipes and balancing valves.

Veradel® PESU

Veradel® PESU (polyethersulfone) is a sulfone polymer best used for applications that interact with hot chlorinated water. Its unique combination of low creep, excellent deflection of temperature and good resistance to oxidative aging equips heating systems with long-lasting properties in highly aggressive environments.

Reinforced Veradel® PESU grades are especially relied upon for impressive heat deflection that can manage temperatures up to 204°C (399°F), which makes this high-performing polymer an ideal alternative for high-temperature boiler tanks and components.

Udel® PSU

Udel® PSU (polysulfone) is a high performing thermoplastic that excels in strength retention and heat resistance. Syensqo’s Udel® PSU enacts rigid and semi-tough properties for more hydrolytic stability than traditional sulfone polymers. In addition to its structural reliability, this dimensionally stable specialty polymer is comprehensively resistant to pressure from hot water and steam. Udel® PSU ensures good creep resistance and low water uptake when submerged in water, which makes this specialty polymer a leader in heating components for hot chlorinated water environments.

Udel® PSU has successfully replaced brass in pressurized hot water applications for over 20 years. The specialty polymer’s ability to adapt to diverse heat and climate guarantees cost-effective material for systems that require continuous exposure to hot chlorinated water, including manifolds, heat meters, pumps, pipes and balancing valves.

Solef® PVDF

Solef® PVDF is a fluorinated semi-crystalline thermoplastic that provides outstanding chemical inertness to most chemicals, compounds and solvents. In addition to high-resistance, this ultra-sustainable specialty polymer requires no extra additives, and its low values of leachables and extractables offer Solef® PVDF inherent stability when exposed to harsh environments. Formulated for remarkable toughness, Solef® PVDF contains exceptional durability and serves as a reliable material against steam and pressure found in modern heating systems.

Long-term hydrostatic strength (LTHS) properties ensure Solef® PVDF is an excellent choice for any high-pressure or extreme thermal environments found in heating systems. Additionally, the advanced properties of Solef® PVDF make it ideal for pipes within district heating systems.

Ryton® PPS

Ryton® PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) is formulated to provide high chemical resistance, low viscosity and outstanding dimensional stability in high-pressure water environments due to its low moisture intake. As a leader in internal cellular longevity, Ryton® PPS guarantees extended life cycle through a combination of excellent thermal stability and high chemical resistance when used in a wide variety of solvents and chemicals at elevated temperatures.

Ryton® PPS’s unmatched dimensional stability provides complex parts with extremely tight tolerances in molding capabilities and maintains stability in harsh chemical environments and long-term temperatures of up to 200°C (392°F). This adaptable thermoplastic offers advanced mechanical properties that are especially beneficial for injections into thin-walled parts in heat meters, pumps, manifolds, boiler tanks and components, pumps, pipes, and balancing valves.

Amodel® PPA

Amodel® PPA (polyphthalamide) is a high-performance aromatic polyamide that exhibits extreme dimensional stability, as well as outstanding resistance to creep and fatigue. These high performing properties have elevated Amodel® PPA as the standard in rigorous, high temperature, high-pressure heating system environments. Amodel® PPA components support their initial high strength and stiffness amid the continuous humidity often found in these systems.

With excellent resistance and durability, Amodel® PPA is suitable for systems with intermittent exposure to hot chlorinated water such as manifolds, heat meters, pumps, pipes and balancing valves.

Omnix® HPPA

Omnix® HPPA is a chemically resistant polyamide that closes the cost-performance gap between lower performing PA66 and higher performing polyphthalamide, such as Amodel® PPA. This high-performing specialty polymer implements dimensional stability and lower warpage to ensure long-lasting durability in chemically concentrated environments. Omnix® HPPA’s high strength and stiffness retention enables longer lasting and more cost-effective heating system components than competing traditional metals.

Omnix® HPPA contains advanced mechanical and physical properties that are excellent for boiler tanks and components, heat meters, pumps, pipes, balancing valves and manifolds.
