Veradel® PESU

Properties

Veradel® PESU combines good chemical resistance with inherent flame resistance and a UL Relative Thermal Index of 190°C (374°F), making it a good fit for a variety of applications including electronic and automotive components. Its high thermal properties and transparency also make it suitable for foodservice applications.

Chemical Resistance

Veradel® PESU has good chemical resistance to many materials, including the following:

  • Aqueous systems
  • Caustics
  • Inorganic acids
  • Aliphatic hydrocarbons
  • Detergents and soaps
  • Certain alcohols

Transparency and Color

Veradel® PESU, like all Sulfone polymers, offers transparent, opaque and glass-fiber reinforced grades in natural and colored resins.

In their natural state, sulfone polymers are transparent materials, although they are not completely colorless. Veradel® PESU exhibits a light amber tint.

Processing

With a wide range of melt viscosities Veradel® PESU can be processed by injection molding, extrusion and blow molding. The shapes can be processed for prototype evaluations; films and plates can be thermoformed using conventional equipment. Furthermore, most post-fabrication operations such as ultrasonic welding, adhesive bonding, laser marking and heat staking, threading and machining can be performed with Veradel® PESU. Veradel® PESU can also be processed in solution to make coatings and membranes.
