The Science behind Miracare® SLB structured surfactant liquid systems
Miracare® SLB products are innovative surfactant compounds. Their proprietary composition comprises several carefully chosen anionic, amphoteric and non-ionic surfactants. When mixed in certain proportions, these surfactants organize into sheets, which stack up to form a flowable, easy-to-process lamellar phase. When processed into cleansing formulations, the lamellar sheets of these performance concentrates fold onto themselves and reorganize into concentric, micron-size vesicles, often called multilamellar vesicles.
These liquid crystal structures, made of surfactants, are called “Structured Surfactant Liquids.” They have the organization of a crystal, yet are malleable and flexible like a liquid. Structured Surfactant Liquid systems have a unique rheology profile that provides aesthetically pleasing textures and enables the suspension, encapsulation and delivery of insoluble oils and particles.
