L-528 PREPREG
L-528 is a modified phenolic prepreg with excellent fire, smoke, and toxicity properties. L-528 is the result of development aimed at creating a new generation of aircraft interior prepregs and is intended to be used as a single ply or multiple ply skin for aramid/phenolic sandwich panels or in laminates.
L-528 prepreg utilizes L-328 modified phenolic resin combined with aramid reinforcement. L-528 is supplied as impregnated woven aramid fabric (multiple weave styles available).
When being used in sandwich panel construction, it is recommended to use L-310FR phenolic adhesive in conjunction with L-528 prepreg for core bonding.
Features and Benefits
• Creates sandwich panels with high peel strength for today’s modern commercial aircraft interiors (when used with L-310FR phenolic adhesive)
• L-528 system processes easily in most plated presses or autoclaves
• Is an excellent laminating prepreg for air conditioning ducting and other aircraft interior laminate requirements
• L-528 can be used in complex structures which must meet stringent FAA requirements
• Self-extinguishing per FAR part 25.853
