AERO® 3894 promoter is used extensively in copper flotation. It provides an ideal combination of strength and selectivity (vs. iron sulfides) while requiring relatively low dosage. It is typically the first collector chosen when testing on porphyry copper ores. It can be used alone or as a component in formulations. When used in polymetallic ores it exerts selectivity against unactivated sphalerite and galena in alkaline circuits. Under appropriate conditions it can be selective against arsenic and antimony sulfide minerals and is less sensitive to pulp potential changes than xanthates.
