Advancing sustainable mobility through composites

Syensqo, a global leader in advanced materials, will put its sustainability strategy at the core of its presence at JEC World 2025, in line with the company’s commitment to creating solutions that advance humanity while protecting our planet.

JEC World is a pivotal event in our annual calendar, where we eagerly anticipate unveiling new initiatives and demonstrating our advancements in material and processing technologies. This year is no exception! We are placing sustainability at the core of our showcase and we are thrilled to introduce ReGen, a portfolio of sustainable1 composites that deliver the same high performance our customers have come to rely on. We are excited to engage with them at the show and explore new projects and collaborations.

Rodrigo Elizondo, President of Syensqo Composite Materials

Accelerating society’s transition to sustainable mobility

Syensqo is dedicated to furthering the adoption of composites to help its customers meet their lightweighting objectives while investing in the industrialization of composites through the development of fast cure products and high rate manufacturing technologies. At the show, Syensqo will promote its portfolio of industry-leading technologies and will showcase impressive components and flagship projects including:

  • An electric car battery box. Developed by Syensqo with Ricardo and Airborne, leveraging SolvaLite® 716FR and the RMC (Recyclate Molding Compound) technology, this is the first fully composite enclosure to meet all major automotive mechanical and fire safety standards.
  • A wing spar from Ascendance’s ATEA VTOL prototype made using Syensqo’s MTM® 45-1 epoxy resin system for its high-performance and flexible curing properties. Designed to transform regional air travel, ATEA offers a low-carbon footprint2, 400km range, and a 75% reduction in noise emissions, providing a quiet, efficient and sustainable alternative to conventional aircraft.
  • Micro launcher components (including a coaxial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank dome and liquid oxygen (LOX) sealing ring), manufactured by Orbex using Syensqo's CYCOM® 5320-1 thermoset resin system, coupled with Syensqo’s THORNEL® T650 fabric. These parts play a critical role in Orbex's groundbreaking carbon fiber coaxial tank, specifically designed for its BioLPG fuel system. Orbex aims to recover these components with each Stage 1 launch, advancing the path toward more sustainable space exploration.
  • The Climate Impulse project which, led by Bertrand Piccard and Raphael Dinelli and powered by Syensqo’s technology, aims to design and fly the first zero-emission hydrogen plane non-stop around the world in 9 days. At the event, engage with our team to gain insights into the progress achieved since the project's launch a year ago, and discover the upcoming steps in our exciting journey towards advancing sustainable aviation.

Launching ReGen, the Renewable Generation with uncompromised performance

The company is proud to introduce ReGen, a portfolio of sustainable composite materials containing controlled blend and/or mass-balanced renewable feedstocks, that deliver performance equivalent to their market-leading parent materials. ReGen responds to a market desire for circular composites, without the need to make modifications to existing manufacturing processes.

Throughout 2025 Syensqo will be launching SolvaLite® 714 ReGen, MTM® 57 ReGen and MTM® 58B ReGen for the automotive market. MTM® 49-3 resin with bio content, launched in 2024, is now also part of the ReGen portfolio.

Enabling circular production of composite material structures

To enable the most efficient and economic ecosystem to recycle carbon fiber based materials from our worldwide operations, we are forming partnerships with recyclers and supporting the development of appropriate technologies to ensure that the supply chain can maximize the use of high value-added composites.

In addition Syensqo is proud to showcase how its RMC technology, designed for our customers to turn prepreg scrap into valuable non structural materials, has been efficiently used in the BEMA project. RMC offers 100% utilization of material for increased cost effectiveness and sustainability.
