The new Board will help Syensqo incorporate the best science into its innovation projects, identify and evaluate emerging technologies and facilitate connections with the external scientific community

Syensqo is pleased to announce the nomination of a Scientific Advisory Board.

"Scientific curiosity and innovation excellence are part of Syensqo’s DNA: from the first Solvay Conference set up by our founder Ernest Solvay in 1911, to the launch of our new Scientific Advisory Board today. The first board meeting took place in our labs in Alpharetta and enabled us to leverage the expertise of our esteemed Board members, whose insights on emerging technologies will guide our strategic initiatives and help drive our innovation in the future."

Ilham Kadri, CEO of Syensqo

The Board is tasked with reviewing key Syensqo projects, fostering connections with key individuals in academic institutions and discussing emerging technologies, to ensure that Syensqo is able to build on its 160-year legacy of scientific exploration to advance humanity. It will critically evaluate Syensqo’s scientific projects, with a particular focus on the company’s growth platforms

The Scientific Advisory Board is made up of four leading academics in the field of chemistry:

  • Ben Feringa, 2016 Nobel Prize winner and Professor of Chemistry at the University of Groningen, also former recipient of the 2015 Ernest Solvay Prize
  • Avelino Corma, Professor at the Institute of Chemical Technology at the Polytechnic University of Valencia
  • Juan de Pablo, Liew Family Professor in Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago
  • Karim Zaghib, Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering at Concordia University

The Board will meet twice in 2024, with a focus on reviewing progress and future direction of ongoing key projects; exploration of emerging technologies, including the role of AI, as well as  fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange with Syensqo’s top scientists.
