We are looking for:

A Plastics Process Engineer to work with the R&I Management team in Stamford, CT site.

We can count on you to:

  • Compound resin/additives formulations and injection mold/compression mold test specimen to advance of the existing product technology and new product development (NPI projects)

  • Hands-on lab operations including polymer processing, color and gloss measurement, physical properties testing, data acquisition, data analysis, preparation of presentations and project updates for customer related projects and NPI projects

  • Document, maintain and update laboratory procedure in accordance with Standard Operation Procedures

  • Maintain calibration and maintenance schedule for designated laboratory equipment

  • Troubleshoot and problem solve equipment operational issues

  • Coordinate and execution of Joint Customer Technical Service Work Request (TSR) in a timely manner

  • Work together with field Technical Service and Sales Team to provide data summary and project update on a monthly basis

  • Maintain regional database for all completed and active projects with documentation of commercial outcomes

  • Stay up-to-date with technology development in core market segments

  • Coordinate 3rd party and Stamford Analytical to complete analysis

You will bring:

  • Minimum Associate degree with 3+ years of experience or B.S. degree with 0+ years of experience in Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer & Material Science or related filed

  • Experience in the operations of polymer processing equipment (extrusion and compounding, injection molding, compression molding)

  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and problem solving in polymer processing

Skills and behavior competencies:

  • Operation of typical polymer processing and testing equipment: injection molding, polymer extruder, colorimeter, gloss meter, physical property (Instron), thermal oven, melt-flow tester, heated press, UV-vis, FT-IR etc.

  • High analytical skills – Insightful analysis of data, detail-oriented.

  • Strong customer orientation and marketing/commercial mindset.

  • Proactive, take initiative and flexible.

  • Extroverted, pronounced interest in new ideas, high level of creativity.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Able to work in a team setting.

  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and maintain projects on target and on schedule.

  • Customer focus: candidate required to be dedicated and sensitive to the customer needs.

You will get:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $78,000.00 to $106,000.00 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
