We are looking for:

A Chemical Operator (Covers Sulfation Operator, Monomers Operator, and Finishing Operator positions) To operate chemical process and equipment in a safe manner to produce quality product. Conduct the necessary auxiliary field tasks (material transfers, adjustments, packaging, etc.) to ship products to the customer.

We count on you for:

  • Understand and abide by plant Health, Safety, Security, Environmental rules, policies and procedures
  • Support the plant’s quality management systems and its compliance with pertinent quality standards.
  • Accountable for learning and subsequent training of learned job duties and qualified skills, according to the appropriate, documented procedures.
  • Operate and monitor a continual chemical process, batch reactors, blend vessels, and storage tanks in manual mode and with a computerized process control system.
  • Collect process samples, perform simple in-process lab analyses, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct bulk material transfers using pumps, hoses, heat exchangers, filters, and other transfer equipment
  • Properly clean and sanitize tanks and transfer equipment per procedures
  • Load and unload bulk tank wagons
  • Perform drumming operations, including unloading drum trailers and palletizing.
  • Monitor the plant utilities and wastewater systems.
  • Operate all forklifts and material moving equipment.
  • Complete janitorial duties and general laborer work as directed, including housekeeping activities.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and electronic documentation (e.g. batch records, checklists, log sheets, shift ends, etc)
  • Enter computer transactions and work notifications into the SAP system.
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe manner and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment per site policies.
  • Prepare appropriate work permits for maintenance and contractors.
  • Perform light/routine equipment inspections, documentation, and/or repairs
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues and seek assistance from supervision when necessary
  • Successfully complete training program and pass written and field performance tests for the specific area(s) of qualification (e.g. Drumming, Finishing, Sulfation, Monomers). Maintain qualification through on-going review of SOPs, MOCs, and other training.
  • Assist with training of new hires and transfers
  • Conduct other duties requested by management, based on safety and qualifications

You will bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Knowledge of chemical operations and batch manufacturing preferred
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule and shift work. This includes holidays and weekends.
  • Willing to cooperate in teamwork, share responsibilities, take direction and advice from others, and train others.
  • Able to plan and organize multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Must have strong mathematical, problem solving skills, and computer skills. SAP experience preferred.
  • Background should demonstrate safety, dependability, maturity, credibility and productivity.
  • Must be dedicated to work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $31.58. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
