We are looking for:
Self-motivated, detail-oriented and capable of routinely working in a testing environment

Excellent organizational skills, demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, works well in a team and demonstrates ability to interface with internal customers

Prioritizes a safe working environment and strives to work safely and protect the safety of others

Experience in polymer characterization or must be able to obtain the appropriate technical skills and knowledge to perform materials testing

Interest in seeking solutions to technical challenges, with a demonstrated ability to solve problems

We count on you for:

Safely perform a variety of routine and complex physical-mechanical tests and produce reliable and precise data to support R&D and QC customers

Perform tests, record test results, report data into LIMS system and communicate with internal customers

Understand quality system requirements, such as ISO 17025. Strictly follow ASTM and ISO standards for physical-mechanical testing and reporting

Prepare samples for testing as required by test methods. Perform work with accuracy and in accordance with established procedures

Keep lab equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance and maintaining log books

Perform all work activities in a safe and timely manner. Proactively identify safety related items that need to be corrected or improved and initiate appropriate actions. Participates in safety audits and safety meetings; closes open audit action items in a timely manner

Follow both written and verbal instructions. Provide full, complete, and accurate documentation of all work as required by LTMs, SOPs and company policies and procedures

Provide technical support to Quality, Operations, Marketing and Sales. Support testing labs at other Syensqo’s facilities. Perform 5S and housekeeping duties as required. Routinely maintains and cleans laboratory facilities and equipment

Maximize technical activities to improve efficiencies and minimize backlog / workload

Complete routine work without supervision. Complete complex work under limited supervision

Participate in lab alignment initiatives as well as proficiency testing to demonstrate testing competencies

Overtime (over 40 hrs./work week) may be required

Perform other duties as assigned

Observe and evaluate the entire life cycle of a polymer, beginning at the inception all the way to the analysis of final, end-use applications. Generate testing results that are critical for understanding not only the nature of the polymers but also for driving development, increasing process efficiency and addressing customer challenges

Highly stimulating workload, with a variety of different sample types, materials, challenges, applications and analysis techniques

An opportunity to become an expert in polymer characterization, a critical resource for the development of new polymer materials and technology

You will bring:

Required Education BS degree in Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering/science.

Previous experience in mechanical testing or materials testing is a plus

Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and capable of routinely working in a testing environment

The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
